The beautiful, mystical, earth spirit of the Lakota was the inspiration for this painting. Pte San Win (White Buffalo Calf Woman) brought the Lakota their sacred pipe and the sacred ceremonies that they were to perform in their spiritually inspired culture. The Lacota understood that everything had spirit, the animals, plants, rocks and water. All are connected to each other and with the great circle of life, including man.
