I love painting the big cats. In this painting, the Siberian tiger also known as the Amur tiger is the main subject. The background reference is from a photo I took several years ago. I liked how the fresh snowfall contrasted with the light and shadows created by the rising sun. Through this winter landscape, the Siberian tiger moves silently. The light colour of his fur and striped pattern blends perfectly with the harsh environment of winter allowing him the best chance of a successful hunt.
